How Recalibr8 Began

Recalibr8 began with a single word....

In December 2010, during a quiet moment of prayer and reflection on Habakkuk 2:2–4, I sensed the word “Recalibrate.” I didn’t understand it at the time, but I knew it mattered. So I held onto it.

For fifteen years.

During those years, life unfolded much like it does for many people. I built a career in accounting and finance, worked hard to provide for my family, and navigated the responsibilities of raising a child as a single parent. My professional life was stable, but internally I often felt that something deeper was still waiting to unfold.

What I didn’t realize then was that the waiting itself was part of the preparation.

Over time, through prayer, reflection, and lived experience, the meaning of that word became clearer. Recalibr8 was not simply an idea for a business. It was a calling to help people pause, reflect, and realign their lives with the purpose they were originally created for.

“I spent 20+ years being very good at a life that stopped feeling like mine”

Why Recalibr8 Exists

Recalibr8 exists for people who sense that something in their life or work is slightly out of "sync."

Not necessarily broken.

But no longer fully aligned with who they were created to be.

Sometimes that realization comes after years of responsibility, success, sacrifice, or simply living on autopilot.

Recalibr8 was created to offer space and framework for thoughtful reflection, spiritual grounding, and practical clarity during those moments.

Recalibr8 was born from a season of waiting, reflection, and surrender.

What I once thought were delays turned out to be preparation.”

What This Work Taught Me

My professional background spans decades in finance and business operations. That experience taught me how systems work, how decisions shape outcomes, and how structure can bring clarity to complex situations.

But my personal journey taught me something equally important...Purpose is rarely discovered through achievement alone.

It often emerges through seasons of waiting, questioning, and quiet spiritual formation.

Recalibr8 sits at the intersection of those two worlds: practical structure and spiritual reflection.

What “Recalibr8” Means

The word recalibrate means to reset something so it functions the way it was originally designed.

In Bible numerology, 8 implies a new beginning; That idea sits at the center of everything we do.

Recalibr8 is an invitation to pause long enough to ask deeper questions about purpose, calling, alignment, and direction.

Not to rush into dramatic life changes. But to move forward with greater clarity and intentional alignment.

Where Recalibr8 Is Going

Recalibr8 is still growing.

What began as a single word during prayer is gradually expanding into a collection of tools, reflections, assessments, and learning experiences designed to help people rediscover their sense of purpose.

My hope is that Recalibr8 becomes a place where thoughtful people can step back from the noise of daily life long enough to realign with what truly matters.

Because sometimes the most important step forward begins with a taking a step back to quietly reflect and recalibrate.
